Vernacular refers to the everyday speech of people. As designers, when we use a particular visual style for design work, that applied approach is what we refer to as using a visual vernacular. In his project, I explored several design movements from the twentieth century, selected one, and applied its visual vernacular to a poster communicating the high points of that particular design approach.
